28 September, 1918:
Mother said, "You know, some boys came to Jayrambati wanting to be initiated. But I wouldn't agree. Then they besought me, 'In that case, give us a little dust off your feet, so that we may wear it in amulet.' So great were their faith and reverence"....
Kaviraj Shyamadas came to see Radhu and Mother asked me to call her....A little later Rashbihari Maharaj ushered in the physician. When he had finished examining her, Mother asked Radhu to bow to his feet. She did so. After he had left, some of those present inquired whether he was a brahmin. Mother replied, "No, he is a Vaidya."
"Then why did you ask her to bow to him?"
"Certainly, she should do so," Mother said. "Such a learned man is equal to a brahmin, to whom else should she bow if not to him? Don't you think so, my dear?"....
