Swami Ishanananda:

Mother was gradually becoming so cross with them (on account of her illness), that Nalini-didi dared not approach her. Revered Sharat Maharaj tried to reason with her thus, "It will be hard for them to depart, leaving you in such a state of health. They will go when you recover a little."

"It would have been better if they were sent away," said Mother. "But see to it that they don't come to me any more; I dislike to see even the shadow of them."

One noon, while Radhu was asleep in the adjoining room, her little son crawled to Mother's bed and tried to climb to her chest. Noticing this, Mother said to the child, "I have totally rid myself of all attachment for you all. Go, go! You can bind me no more."

And to me she said, "Take that child up and leave him that side, I like this no longer."

I took up the boy in my arms and left him with his grandmother. Mother passed away a few days later.

I am the mother of the wicked, as I am the mother of the virtuous. Whenever you are in dtsress, just say to yourself "I have a mother".

Many are known to do great works under the stress of some strong emotion. But one's true nature is known from the manner in which one does one's insignificant daily task.

To realize God and to be absorbed uninteruptedly in His consciousness, is the aim.
