Swami Arupananda:

At Ghatal, Upen Maharaj had given ma a rupee for the expenses of my journey back to the Math. I was saving it for my return fare, but did not tell Mother about it.

"Sit down," she said. "I shall serve your rice. It is freshly cooked."

Then she went on, "The Lord will take care of His own world. What have you to worry about?"

She was upset because I had not eaten all day. With her own hands she brought me rice, pulses, vegetables, and other dishes. After I had eaten she gave me betel to chew.

As evening came on we fell to talking. "The Master will accomplish a great deal of work through you," Mother said. "See how you went to Ghatal, distributed things, and helped people. When your tasks are over it will be time for him to take you into his bosom."

"Why do I never see him?" I asked.

"You will, when the time comes," she answered. "My Lalit (Chatterji) never asked such questions. He knew that he belonged to the Master and was sure to see him some time or other."....

She gave me a blanket, saying, "Take this, and cover yourself with it at night."

"Whose is it?" I asked.

"It is my own, I use it," she replied.

(to be continued....)
