Swami Arupananda:

Mother laughed at Radhu's mother's words and said to me, "Girish Babu used to say, 'There goes the madwoman who accompanies the Mother (in all her incarnations).'"

Having lost my own mother at an early age, I felt a little shy in the beginning about addressing Holy Mother as "Mother". Once she sent a message to a distant cousin through me, and as I was about to leave asked me, "Now tell me what you are going to say."

"She asked me to say such and such," I replied.

At this Mother said, "Say, Mother asked me" - laying particular stress on the word "Mother".

One morning we were reading Sri Sri Ramakrishna's life. I was reading and Mother and a few others were listening. We had come to the part describing the Master's marriage. In this part of the book Mother had been glorified as the Mother of the universe. She listened only a little while and then left the room.
