18 September, 1912 :
Mother: "When the Master was at Dakshineswar, Rakhal (Swami Brahmananda) and the others were quite young. One day Rakhal was very hungry and told the Master so. Thereupon the Master went to the riverside and began to shout, 'O Gourdasi, do come here, now that my Rakhal is very hungry'.
"In those days, there were no sweets to be had at Dakshineswar. Within a short time a boat appeared on the GangA and soon touched the landing stage. Balaram Babu, Gourdasi and some others got down with a large bowl of rasagollas. The Master called to Rakhal in delight, 'Come, Rakhal, come, they have brought rasagollas, come and eat! Didn't you say you are hungry!'
"Rakhal, however, felt shy and cried, 'Why do you let everyone else know that I am hungry!'
"The Master answered, 'Why? What does that matter? You are hungry, you must eat, what is the harm in saying so?' He was always like that."
