Sarayubala Devi:

June, 1912 :

Bhudeb had built a chariot on which the Master would ride and everything was being made ready for this....

We fell to talking about Gouri-Ma. Mother said, "Gourdasi takes great care of the girls at her Ashrama. If anyone is ill, she does all her personal services herself. She has never had to do these things in life; but the Master is making her do them this way, this being her final incarnation."

Now the Master mounted his chariot in the adjoining room. Mother sat on a cot, her eyes fixed on him, giving expression to her intense delight. Later Bhudeb and the other disciples carried the Master and his chariot downstairs, and pulled the chariot along the road and by the riverside. They brought it in after dusk.

Now the ladies commenced to pull it in the room upstairs. Then Mother, Radhu, Nalini-didi, and I pulled too. Mother talked gaily about the chariot to whoever came in. At last the ladies each took her share of the offerings and departed....When the chariot was being pulled along the lane in front, Mother had remarked, "Not that all can go to see JagannAtha at Puri. Those who have seen the Master here will be equally benefited."
