Swami Arupananda:

"Everything was at a standstill at Howrah Railway Station. A little later an Anglo-Indian woman clerk arrived. There was a rush as the Puja holidays had commenced. I couldn't get a ticket and finally had to return home. At home I received a letter telling me of my brother's illness, and had to go there after giving up my trip here."

"We meet only if there is mental harmony," Mother said.

"Mother, " I said quite casually, "if you make yourself responsible for all those whom you initiate, then when we ask anything for ourselves, why do you say, 'I shall tell the Master'? Can't you do anything by yourself?"

I myself had not as yet felt any urge for initiation.

"But I have taken charge of you," Mother replied.

"Give me your blessings, Mother," I said, "so that my heart my become pure and be filled with devotion. Mother, I knew a boy at school - I should be happy if I could give the Master one quarter of the love I gave that boy."

"Is that so, my son?" she said. "Well, I shall tell the Master about it."

"Why do you always say that?" I replied. Are you a being apart from him? It will be enough if you give me your blessings."

(to be continued....)
