Swami Ishanananda:

The Sandhi-pujA (the worship of DurgA during the junction of the eighth and ninth days of the bright fortnight, which is very auspicious) was due that year a little after evening. At that time many offered handfuls of lotuses at Mother's feet, then she told me, "Bring more flowers; offer them in the names of Rakhal (Swami Brahmananada), Tarak (Swami Shivananda), Jogen {Jogin-Ma), and Golap (Golap-Ma); offer in the names of all my sons whom I may or may not remember."

When I had done so, Mother kept on looking for a long while at the Master with folded hands and then prayed, "May all be blessed here and hereafter."

One morning Kedar Maharaj sat by Mother at Jayrambati and said, "Even those who are well off come to our charitable dispensary for medicine. We opened it for the poor to be sure. Should we give medicines to those others as well?"

Mother said after a little thought, "My son, all people in those parts are poor. So if they come to ask for medicine, knowing the circumstances fully well, you have got to give. Anyone who begs is poor."

(to be continued....)
