Swami Ishanananda:

As after a stay of two or three days, the solitude of Koalpara appealed to Radhu, Mother continued to live there with her for six months. It was arranged that Radhu would live in a solitary house a little way off from the Jagadamba Ashrama. It had jungles of brambles on three sides.

Mother said to me one day, "What a strange state of mind I am in now; it happens exactly as I think, be it good or bad! Now Radhu likes this thicket, since it is solitary. I have been feeling uneasy in this jungle for the last few days. Who knows what may happen? You have to remain elsewhere the whole day in connection with your duties; but you should be near about me after dusk.

"I am very afraid, my son. I have also asked Rajen; he will be present from ten or eleven at night." From that day onward I would sit there from evening to eleven at night on a cot placed under a kadbel tree. Mother also sat there and talked softly with us.
