It had been arranged that, when on her way to Calcutta, Mother would install the Master at the Koalpara Ashrama. With her own hands she placed the Master's picture and her own in position and she performed a special worship. And then she got the homa and other rites performed by Kishori Maharaj (later Swami Parameshwarananda).
At noon she went with Kedar babu's mother to his house for a little walk on foot. When returning from there, she was met on the way by Prakash Maharaj, who requested her to get into a palanquin. She complied with evident reluctance. After her return to the Ashrama, she took him severely to task, and said, "This is our village life. Koalpara is sort of parlour for me. These boys are my own. I want to live and move freely about here.
"Coming from Calcutta, I feel myself free from all restrictions. You keep me confined there in a cage as it were. I feel always under check. Now if even here I am able to take each step at your bidding, well I can't do that. You may write to Sharat."
At this Prakash Maharaj begged for pardon and said, "Sharat Maharaj asked me to attend to your needs carefully on the way, and I was under the impression that it was owing to my negligence that you had to walk there. But Mother, you are free to act as you please."
