A READING from: "In The Company of The Holy Mother"

Another evening when we went to see her, she began to speak of Devabrata Maharaj (Swami Prajnananda) and Sachin (Swami Chinmayananda)*, who had to go away all of a sudden.
(*They were suspected of anti-Government activities before renouncing the world. Sister Sudhira was Devabrata's younger sister.)
"Alas, Devabrata went away today," Mother said regretfully. "The Government had promised to give help about the land next to the Sevashrama; but they objected to their presence. So Rakhal (Swami Brahmananda) asked them to leave. They are innocent as you know, but still they are dogged like this. The poor dears did not even eat before they left."
Sister Sudhira replied, "Borther and Sachin ate at our place, Mother, before leaving."
"Oh, they did?" Mother cried. "I am so glad. I was upset about it."
"Wherever brother goes they are after him," Sister Sudhira complained. "That's why he says, "Look, here are my in-laws! I must go and meet them?"
"Yes, indeed, the nationalistic movement ended some time ago, but still they pursue him," Mother said....
