Mother: "On another occasion luchis arrived from Beni Pal's house at Sinthi. The boys live in greater confort nowadays; but Naren, Baburam and the others had to put up with a great deal of hardship. My Rakhal (Swami Brahmananda) is your MahArAja now; he himself often had to clean the cooking utensils. Once, when Naren was on his way to Gaya and Varansai, he spent two days without food, in the shade of a tree. After some time he heard some one calling him. He saw a man standing before him with luchis, savouries, sweets and a jug of cool water, which he held out to Naren saying, 'I have brought you Ramji's offerings, be pleased to accept them.'
"Naren replied, 'But you do not know me, you must be mistaken, they must have asked you to give it to someone else.' The man said in an appealing tone, 'No, MahArAj, I have brought all this for you. I fell asleep in the day and dreamed of somone saying to me, 'Get up quickly and carry food to the holy man under that tree.' I thought it was only a dream and turned on my side. Then he shook me and cried, 'Must you sleep when I ask you to go? Now go quickly.'
"Then I thought my dream is not false. It is RAmji's own command, so I rushed here with all this.' Then Naren took the food as a gracious gift from God."
