Sarayubala Devi:

May, 1914:

After dusk, we laid out the offerimgs in the adjoining room. Mother asked Golap-Ma to make the offerings to the Master, but she replied, "You do it; why should I, when you are here?"

Then Mother sat down to make the dedications herself. She praised the manner in which we had arranged the offerings.

In this way she expressed her delight at everything and filled us with infinite pleasure. After the dedications, Mother and the others partook of the offerings. Mother finished before the others and taking a cane easychair on the veranda, she called to me and said, "Do bring me a pAn (Betel), my dear."

I was serving Golap-Ma and the others, but I quickly went and brought a pAn, feeling rather ashamed that she should have to ask for it. I said to Sumati, "You  might have waited at the door with the pAn, you know I am busy."
