Sarayubala Devi:

31 July, 1918:

Mother was reminiscing about Baburam (Swami Premananda):

"Once the Master said, 'In my spiritual being, later on, I shall eat with a hundred thousand mouths!' and Baburam replied, 'I don't care for your hundred thousand mouths. I want you to eat with this mouth and I want to look at this face!'

"The Master did not like people having too many children. That showed a lack of self-control."

Golap-Ma was a little better today...Bipin Babu, the doctor, said, "She will take three months to get well."

"Dysentery is not easy to cure!" Mother said. "I am sure it will take three months. The Master too had a tendency towards dysentery. At Dakshineswar he was often ill during the rainy season...

"Once He had a severe attack of dysentery, and a girl, who had come from Varanasi, helped to cure him with hot compresses. She made me leave my hut (outside the temple premises) and stay in the room under the concert-tower again. She said, 'How can you stay here, Mother, when he is so ill!' I explained, 'What can I do? If I go, my nephew's wife will be here all alone, because her husband (Hriday) is with the Master.' The girl said, 'Never mind, they will get somebody to stay with her. Do you think you should stay away from him, at such a time?'

"At this, I came back to that room with her. A few days later, when the Master was better, she went away and I never heard where she went. I never saw her again. She did me a very good turn. When I went to Varanasi, I inquired after her, but could not find her. People always came when he needed them and afterwards disappeared.".....
