Sarayubala Devi:

1911 A.D. :

"One should never speak against one's guru," the (visiting) SannyAsini said. Then she bowed and added, "He loved litigation. Now that he is old, he can no longer carry on. His creditors have taken out decrees and wish to have him arrested. What else could I do but go out and collect alms for him?"

When the Mother heard this story, she quoted a saying. I cannot recall the exact words, but the purport was that one may give just advice to one's guru. There is no harm in doing so.

"But at the same time one must have reverence for the guru," Mother continued. "Whatever he might be, one's chances of salvation lies in one's reverence for him. Observe how the disciples of the Master revere him. Out of this reverence for him they revere not only all the members of his family, but even the cats from his home-district!".....

(to be continued....)
