Swami Arupananda:

Jayrambati, (Mother's old home) 8 June, 1913:

Shri Surendranath Bhowmick and Dr. Durgapada Ghosh have arrived. They will be leaving this afternoon. They came after their morning bath to pay their respects to Mother, who placed her hand on their heads and blessed them and asked them to be seated. After a few words Suren Babu asked Mother, "Mother, whenever I worship the Master I am faced with a problem. Supposing someone believes that his chosen deity and the Master are one and the same, then after worshipping his chosen goddess it sounds rather awkward to concude the pujA by addressing the deity in the feminine."

Mother smiled and replied, "Well, my son, he is the Godhead and one's chosen deity; he is all the gods and all their sacred word symbols, in him one can worship all the gods and goddesses. It does not matter how you address him!...."
