Swami Arupananda:

Jayrambati, 12 June, 1913:

I had a mild attack of dysentery. When Mother heard of this she said, "He is inclined that way. He had dysentery even in Varanasi."

I answered, "...It is a family weakness, Mother. My father and many others have died of it."

"How do you speak?" Bibhuti cried. "What does it matter what one's father died of, sometime or other?"

"Yes...One should never make comparisons," Mother said. "...What does it matter how or when people die? Who is one's father or one's mother? God is all."

(to be continued....)
