A READING from: "In The Company of The Holy Mother"Â
(available at all Vedanta Centres)
Udbodhan, 26 November, 1910, 7 a.m.:
Mother had gone to see Gupta Maharaj (Swami Sadananda) the day before, as he was ill. Boshi and Tabu were nursing him with great care. Mother spoke of this and praised them saying, "They are the real holy men, their lives are worth while. Who else is a holy man?"
"Jogin Chatterji's (Swami Nityananda's) disciples too, nursed him carefully," Mother continued. "They all came from East Bengal. At Cossipore, the disciples nursed the Master. He used to say all sorts of things to amuse them. He was very tacful with people. He didn't need much nursing....But they had to sit up nights. He didn't eat much, a little hominy perhaps through a sieve.....
"The Master wanted Amalaki (myrobalan) out of season. After three days Durgacharan Nag arrived with two or three. He had not eaten for three days. The Master took the Amalaki and wept. 'I thought you had gone away to Dacca or somewhere.' He then asked me to prepare a hot dish, and when it was ready he himself sat down to eat so that Durgacharan could have some prasAda."...
