Radhu acted as a weight to keep Holy Mother's soaring mind down to earth. Otherwise she could not have carried out her mission to humanity.

A good-natured and healthy child, Radhu had developed into a rude, irritable, whimsical, wayward girl of retarded mental growth. Though married, she lived with Holy Mother. Often she abused her, even going to the extent of hurting her physically.

Holy Mother said to her bitterly, "You drank the milk of a lioness, but have remained a vixen. I brought you up with such care, but you did not accept any of my precepts. You have imbibed your mother's insane nature."

One day Radhu's teasing reached its climax and she said to Holy Mother, "I wish you would die. May your mouth be blighted." "Yes, yes!" Holy Mother replied sharply, "You will not know what will happen to you after my death. I shudder even to think of it. Let me tell you what is in my mind: May you die first - then I shall be able to die peacefully."

These words, which seem almost like a curse, really shows her solicitude for Radhu's welfare. Who but a godly person could have put up with this girl's perverse nature?
